According to reports from The Guardian this morning, the agent of Chelsea and Manchester United target Paul Pogba has claimed he could be on the move next summer in a €100million deal.
The France international is widely regarded as one of the most talented central midfielders in world football, boasting an eclectic mix of creativity, physicality and netting prowess.
That combination has seen Pogba bag 25 goals in 145 appearances for current employers Juventus, helping fire them to three consecutive Serie A titles and the 2015 Champions League final. He also claimed Europe’s prestigious Golden Boy award in 2013 – the accolade handed to the best player under 21 years of age.
Chelsea and Manchester United were both heavily linked with the 22 year-old during the summer, with the west Londoners believed to have held negotiations over a big-money move during the final week of the transfer window, and The Daily Star continued to list him as a Chelsea and Manchester United target earlier this month.
According to The Guardian, agent Mino Raiola, who was in the news earlier today after suggesting fellow client Romelu Lukaku could soon leave Everton, has hinted Pogba could leave the Old Lady next summer – but also that his likeliest next destination is Barcelona.
He told RMS Sport; “We’ll see what Barça’s project is, and what Paul’s project is. All doors are open to all clubs. For now, the young man decided last summer to stay for a minimum of one year at Juventus. We should always respect the will of a player when he chooses with his heart.
“We can’t give figures, but last year Juventus said no to offers of €85m,” he added. “One hundred million euros? Juve have always said that’s the sum they want. It’s a way of saying he’s one of the best players on the planet.
