According to reports from BuzzSport, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are all targeting PSG prodigy Adrien Rabiot ahead of the January transfer window.
The 6 foot 2 defensive midfielder is one of French football’s most exciting prospects, having claimed 47 youth caps for France and made 87 appearances for PSG at just 20 years of age.
He’s taken part in the Parisians’ last three title campaigns and particularly caught the eye during a Champions League outing against Real Madrid earlier this month, his long-range piledriver bouncing off Keylor Navas’ post.
But Rabiot faces a tough task of cementing a regular first team place over the likes of Marco Verratti, Thiago Motta, Javier Pastore and Blaise Matuidi in PSG’s engine room, whilst David Luiz, Maxwell and Benjamin Stambouli are often thrown into the midfield mix as well.
It proved a problem during the summer transfer window, as agent and mother Veronique Rabiot made a transfer request on the midfielder’s behalf due to a lack of game-time, and after starting under half of PSG’s Ligue 1 outings so far this season, appears to be an issue Rabiot’s suitors are looking to capitalise on in January.
Indeed, according to BuzzSport, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Roma represent interest from Serie A, whilst Premier League trio Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle are all courting the three-time Ligue 1 champion as well.
The north London rivals have been linked with Rabiot for some time, in fact, he’s believed to have taken a tour of Spurs’ training ground in the past.
But under contract at Parc de Princes until 2019, the prodigious midfielder will only be allowed to leave in the coming transfer window for a sizable fee. During the summer, he was valued by the tabloids at a whopping £21million.
