Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing centre-back Craig Dawson this month, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Molineux side are set to revive their interest in the West Ham United defender who they attempted to sign in the summer but were unable to do so as David Moyes’ side failed to bring in a replacement (via BBC).
Fast forward a few months and the move is back on the cards with Julen Lopetegui’s side keen to strengthen whilst weakening a bottom of the table rival in the Hammers.
Dawson is in the final months of his £52k-per-week deal in East London making him an obvious target to finally replace their exodus of centre-backs who left in the summer.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Sheth revealed the player is also insistent on the move with Molineux a destination that brings him closer to home, Sheth said:
“Bit of deja vu with this one, isn’t it. Wolves are interested in signing Craig Dawson on a permanent deal. He’s only got six months left on his contract.
“If you go back to the summer, they thought they got him on deadline day. But it was dependent on West Ham United bringing in Jan Bednarek, I think it was, from Southampton.
“And if all those pieces fell into place, he was free to go to Wolves because West Ham are quite understanding that he’s still commuting from the Midlands. He lives in the Midlands, he wanted to be nearer to home and his family.”

Dawson is a hugely popular figure in East London with his aerial prowess and ruthless defending having seen him become a cult hero figure at the London Stadium.
However, it does seem that it’s now set to come to an end with the limited time on his contract and his clear desire not to pen a fresh one leaves West Ham with their back against the wall in a deal.
Dawson’s arrival in the Midlands would prove good cover and Premier League know-how to a side that lost three experienced heads in Romain Saiss, Conor Coady and Willy Boly in the summer.
The 32-year-old started the Irons’ last six games before their 1-0 defeat against Wolves with that a potential telltale sign of the situation.
Dubbed “immense” by Jack Rosser, the Rochdale-born defender is in the top 7% amongst centre-backs for blocks and the top 10% for goals (via FBref), showing his influence at both ends of the pitch which will be a boost to the lowest scorers in the division.
