A whole host of Newcastle United fans are delighted on Twitter with this latest takeover claim.

Newcastle fans have had to endure a 14-year tenure under Mike Ashley, which saw them experience two relegations from the Premier League, although they did bounce back winning the Championship title at the first time of asking on both occasions.

Should PIF be allowed to own Newcastle?

Now, it’s a new dawn on Tyneside, with PIF owning a majority share of the club and they are already setting about changing how the club operates with Telegraph journalist Sam Wallace claiming they are looking to appoint a new sporting director – and Manchester City’s academy director Jason Wilcox is a candidate.

A lot of Newcastle fans are delighted on Twitter with this latest claim.

What have these Newcastle fans been saying?

“Sporting director is an essential role in this day and age. Has to be done.”

@TBOTT_

“This is the type of move that excites me, actual football people in senior roles, not mugs that work in casinos and lawyers”

@TinTin_Official

“We’re cooking so fast? Sack Bruce to show intent”

@manlikefola_

“I don’t care who comes just get bruce out of here”

@virjianianuj07

“Just as long as charnley is oot”

@wiIlnufc

“Need to bring in Keegan in some capacity as well”

@DavidHermann23

The news that the takeover has officially been passed through will have sent many Newcastle fans into delirium as they’re now one of the richest clubs, not just in the Premier League, but in the entire world.

Life could be very different under this new ownership, as transfer windows of only singing loan players or just a single player are likely to be a thing of the past, but the Magpies have to get things right on the pitch as they are still in the bottom three.
