Plenty of football fans have been reacting to the performance of Celtic’s Tom Rogic whilst away on international duty.
It was a clash of two Celtic players in Tokyo this afternoon as Kyogo Furuhashi’s Japan played host to Rogic’s Australia in a 2022 World Cup Qualifying match, although Kyogo did start the game on the bench.
The home side eventually ran out 2-1 winners thanks to a late own goal from Aziz Behich, but perhaps things could have gone a lot better for the Socceroos if the Celtic man had played a little bit better in front of goal.
Indeed, he missed a golden opportunity to get on the scoresheet just before the hour mark but could only blaze his effort over the bar before he was eventually replaced with ten minutes to go – and there were plenty of fans who were on hand to chastise the 28-year-old for his performance:
“I’m a Rogic fan but he has had a poor game.”
Is Tom Rogic good enough to play for Celtic?
No, he's not that good
Yes, he's a good player
Rogic certainly hasn’t been in the best form this season, only bagging one goal in all competitions for Celtic, and it appears he’s taken that form with him to his international play. Let’s hope he’s able to get back into the swing of things sooner rather than later moving forward.
