Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Football.london journalist Alasdair Gold which shared an image of 16-year-old Lilywhites midfielder Alfie Devine participating in a recent first-team training session at Hotspur Way.
In his tweet sharing this image of the teenager, in which he’s dribbling the ball while being pressed by four-time UEFA Champions League winner Gareth Bale, Gold explains that Devine has ‘made a real impression’ on the north London club’s coaching staff since he joined Spurs from Wigan Athletic in the summer.
Devine has scored two goals and provided one assist in seven U18 Premier League appearances for Tottenham, while he’s also already made four appearances and scored one goal in the Premier League 2 division for Spurs U23s.
So, how have these Tottenham Hotspur fans reacted to Alasdair Gold’s tweet on Alfie Devine?
Great to see 16-year-old Alfie Devine continue to be involved in first team training here and there at Hotspur Way. He's made a real impression on the coaches at Spurs since joining in the summer. pic.twitter.com/IptVCHZrcl

Lots of Spurs fans replied to this tweet positively, with some indicating that they’re happy to see the 16-year-old getting this opportunity to train with the first team.
I would like to think that Jose awarded him this training session after his performance vs Chelsea. https://t.co/RcZ6KlSNIz

Meanwhile, other Tottenham fans discussed the possibility of Devine making the bench for Spurs’ senior squad.
Any chance of making the bench now the subs have increased from 7 to 9

We should bring him on off the bench against relegation fodder like Sheffield Utd, Fulham, Arsenal etc.
