Some Celtic fans have reacted to comparisons that have made to the current stage of the previous season following their recent loss in the Scottish Premiership.
The Hoops may be first in the table currently but the loss to their arch-rivals on Sunday means that they are only two points ahead of them in the table. Steven Gerrard’s men have a game in hand and winning that game will mean that they will at the top of the Premiership.
A comparison from last season, though, has gone viral on Twitter by Celtic Bible. At this point last season, Celtic had 42 points on board. But this season, they have 52 points on board. However, it appears many of them are concerned with the current state of affairs regarding their position in the top-flight.
Celtic fans: Has the side regressed since last season?
Nope, we're on the right track
Absolutely, I'm worried
Some Celtic fans have reacted well to these comparisons.
The board have seen this coming for 2 years. We have stagnated letting them get to the level of the cup final and yesterday. We must improve and ship out the kouassi/arzani types who offer absolutely nothing to rotating the squad. Only we can throw this title away

Reckon the Huns will drop zero points against the rest. We’ll need to take at least a draw at Ibrokes and beat them at Celtic Park. Worrying.

The difference of points for 4th down has all dropped, Shows the regression from the rest of the league.

Both not good.

Past has no bearing on this season. We need to bring in better players for European football and the league title. Interesting stats though

Last season had seen Brendan Rodgers leave the club at the end of February and he joined Leicester City in the Premier League. Neil Lennon returned to the club on an initial interim basis but the move was made permanent at the end of the season. The club won the Premiership and also won the Scottish Cup.
The Hoops had the best defensive record in Scotland last season, conceding just 20 goals. They had the second-best attacking record and had found the back of the net a total of 77 times.
As for this season, they have the second-best defensive record in the division. They’re only behind Rangers and have let in 13 goals. When it comes to attack, they have scored the most number of goals and have found the back of the net 55 times as compared to Rangers’ tally of 53.
What do we think?
It is unfair to make these comparisons since Rangers have also improved. Losing to the Gers has brought in negativity in the minds of many Hoops fans, but the season is still far from over. There are a lot of games yet to be played.
