Italian giants, AS Roma, are interested in signing Moise Kean from the Toffees in January, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Sport Witness).
According to the report, Roma wish to bring in Everton’s 19-year-old Italian to ease the goalscoring burden on their Bosnian striker, Edin Dzeko (via Sport Witness).
The 33-year-old has bagged six goals and two assists for La Lupa (per Transfermarkt), and is currently the club’s only available out-and-out centre-forward, due to Nikola Kalinic’s fractured fibula (via Transfermarkt).
To buy or not to buy?
Gazzetta Dello Sport‘s report goes on to explain that the Italian club do not have the funds to go ‘crazy’ in the transfer window and are considering their options (via Sport Witness).
However, the man who can cost Everton up to £27.5 million to sign from Juventus (per BBC), remains at the top of the Europa League club’s wishlist.
Therefore, Roma are looking at the possibility of loaning the 19-year-old in, during the January window, with an option to buy in the future should they wish (via Sport Witness).

As previously mentioned, should Kean opt to join Roma should he be given the chance, his main competitor for first-team minutes will be Dzeko.
The Bosnian has featured in all 12 of Roma’s Serie A matches so far, captaining the side in four of their last six league outings (per Transfermarkt).
However, in recent weeks the 33-year-old has struggled on the goalscoring front, managing to find the back of the net only once over those six league outings (via Transfermarkt).
Despite struggling of late, Dzeko vastly outperforms Everton’s 19-year-old when it comes to average rating; the Bosnian is on 7.43/10 for the season and Kean on 6.3/10 (via Whoscored).
While it is clear that Dzeko will still be the main man should Roma sign Kean, he should still be able to secure more minutes than he has under Marco Silva due to La Lupa’s lack of strength in depth.
