Mohammed Kudus is exactly what Everton supporters “have been crying out for” at Goodison Park.
That’s according to journalist Pete O’Rourke who was speaking to This is Futbol amid reports linking the Toffees with the Ajax attacker.
The Independent revealed last month that Everton made a last-ditch attempt to bring the Ghanaian to Merseyside in the summer.
Their £15m offer was swiftly rejected with the Amsterdam club already losing a raft of first-team regulars.
Kudus ten revealed that he wanted to “try” the “great opportunity” that the Blues had presented (NOS) saying that “no footballer wants to sit on the bench and neither do I.”
However, this season the 22-year-old has featured more regularly which could dent Frank Lampard’s hopes of swooping once again for the £15k-per-week gem
Speaking to TIF O’Rourke said: “I think Everton fans have been crying out for attacking reinforcements so Kudus would definitely be somebody who would get the Everton fans excited and I think on a matchday somebody who would get the fans off their seat as well with his style of play.”
TIF Thoughts on O’Rourke’s comments…
Do you think Everton could sign Kudus?Yes!No, the chance has gone. |
Lauded for a “ridiculous” pass he pulled off earlier this season by writer Owuraku Ampofo Kudus has already reached double figures in the scoring charts this season.
He has been involved in 12 goals in just 979 minutes of action this term and according to Fbref he is in the top 1% of forwards across Europe for non-penalty expected goals, passes attempted, pass completion and dribbles completed per 90 minutes which further reinforces O’Rourke’s verdict.
However, whether the burgeoning talent will be as keen on a move to Everton nowadays remains to be seen considering he is now attracting interest from Borussia Dortmund.
