According to reports from London Evening Standard, Shakhtar Donetsk have warned Chelsea that Alex Teixeira’s price-tag will rise by €10million if they fail to sign him in January.
The in-form Brazilian has bagged 26 goals in 26 appearances this season, including three strikes in the Champions League, and London Evening Standard claim he’s Chelsea’s No.1 target for the January transfer window.
The attacking midfielder has already confirmed their interest, telling reporters in October; “I have an offer. It was a pleasure to know that Chelsea wants to sign me. It would be great if the transfer already happens in January.”

It’s believed the Ukranian outfit value the 25-year-old at around £30million and are now open to selling after being eliminated from the Champions League by Group A opponents PSG and Real Madrid.
But manager Mircea Lucescu has warned potential suitors that if a deal for Teixeira isn’t agreed in the coming transfer window, the club’s valuation will significantly increase.
As quoted by LES, he said; “Alex is now worth more than €40million (£28.9m). I think at the end of the season – were he to continue with this performance – his value is €50million (£36.1m)”
“If he were playing in a league more competitive, his transfer would be at the same level as that of [Angel] Di Maria,” Lucescu added, in reference to the Argentina international’s £59.7million move to Old Trafford in summer 2014.
