According to reports from Don Balon, Manchester City have dropped out of the race to sign Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen during the summer transfer window.
The German international is rated as one of the top young goalkeepers in world football but has been forced to settle for sharing game-time with Claudio Bravo since moving to the Nou Camp during summer 2014.

Indeed, the 24-year-old has been reserved almost exclusively for Copa del Rey and Champions League action, creating doubts over his long-term future with the Spanish giants.
Liverpool and Manchester City have both been linked with transfer swoops for Ter Stegen in recent months but Don Balon claim the Citizens have dropped their interest following Joe Hart’s heroics against Real Madrid last week.
That leaves Liverpool in pole position to snap up Ter Stegen during the coming transfer window. But the Spanish publication claim the Reds are unlikely to match the £40million bid their Premier League rivals had lined up.
