According to Sky Sports, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger hopes to complete Mohamed Elneny’s transfer to the Emirates this week; whilst The Express report that Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has dismissed rumours of a move to Real Madrid or Manchester United.

The Gunners have been in talks with FC Basel over the signing of midfielder Mohamed Elneny since late December but a number of work permit issues have stood in the way of a planned move to north London. But manager Arsene Wenger revealed in today’s press conference that he’s optimistic of officially securing the Egypt international’s services before Arsenal face Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Sunday.

As quoted by Sky Sports, he said; “I expect Mohamed yes, we are positive that this week it can happen. The situation should be sorted out. There are a lot of work permit problems and special paperwork to do, (the) visa, so we hope we can finalise it this week. As long as it is not definitely signed, you have to be cautious, but I am optimistic about the case.”

Meanwhile, The Express report that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, who has netted eleven times in 20 Premier League appearances this season, has ruled out a move to Manchester United or Real Madrid by pledging his loyalty to the north London club.

The 22-year-old has been linked with the Red Devils for some time whilst reports last week revealed he’s emerged as a transfer target for the La Liga giants as well – but Kane insists he’s committed to staying at White Hart Lane for the foreseeable future.

As quoted by The Express, he said; “There are always going to be rumours flying around but I’m happy here. The club is in a good shape, we have a great future and I’m raring to go so we will see what happens. We have got a lot of young players raring to go who are getting better and better with each game and that is all we have got to do. Keep working hard on the training field, we are getting better and more experienced the more we play and I think we can only get better.”
