Leeds are back in Premier League action on December 28th, taking on Manchester City. It’ll be an extremely tough affair, with City sitting in second place and looking to close the gap on the league leaders, Arsenal.
Cross stated, ‘Rasmus Kristensen-Looked a touch rusty. On more than one occasion he was the slow man out of defence playing Real Sociedad attackers onside. Asked for the ball into space down the right flank plenty of times, but rarely got it. 5′
TIF’s view on Cross’ comments…
We believe that friendlies are not a fair reflection of a player’s ability. Players are still getting back to full-match fitness, so they won’t be showcasing the best of their abilities.
The Denmark international has been at the World Cup and made three appearances. So, once they were eliminated from the group stage, it was very likely that Kristensen was given some time to rest. He’ll have needed that run out to help improve his match fitness.
Kristensen has been one of Leeds’ top-performing players so far this season. Based on Sofascore’s average rating system, the right-back has a score of 6.98. Of all the players in the Whites’ squad, the Dane is the second-highest score of any player.
Leeds only signed the player last summer from RB Leipzig, demonstrating that the Dane has adapted quickly to life in the Premier League. Considering he’s 25-years-old there’s plenty of time for him to get better and better during his time at Elland Road.
