Liverpool are reportedly looking to make a double transfer swoop for Jude Bellingham and Matheus Nunes in the summer transfer window.
Having secured the services of Cody Gakpo earlier this month, the Anfield outfit have already turned their attention to the summer transfer period and identified two top targets.
According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, the Merseyside club are keen to secure transfer deals for Bellingham and Nunes in the summer.
The report also adds that while Bellingham is Klopp’s top target, the Reds boss is also keen on adding Nunes to his squad despite him only joining Wolves last summer.
Bellingham has made 112 appearances for Borussia Dortmund across all competitions, scoring 19 goals and delivering 21 assists along the way.
Viewed as one of Europe’s top young talents, the midfielder also made a name for himself at the recent World Cup in Qatar, where his efforts for England ultimately earned him a place in TalkSport’s team of the tournament.
Specifically, the publication said that the teenager showed “his leadership credentials at international level with some stunning displays on the biggest stage of all”.
Do you think Liverpool should sign Bellingham and Nunes in the summer?
Yes
No
The 19-year-old has also previously received praise from Klopp, who described the Dortmund star as an “exceptional” player.
As for Nunes, he has reportedly been on Liverpool’s radar for a significant period of time before he made his summer move to Molineux, which highlights the Reds manager’s admiration for him, while Klopp also praised his impact during Tuesday’s FA Cup tie.
His efforts for Wolves this season have seen him show how much of a capable midfield figure he is, for example, the Portugal international has the third-highest number of key passes (15) at the club as well as the joint-third-highest number of successful tackles (18).
Bearing in mind how Liverpool’s midfield has been identified by Jamie Carragher as an area that the club needs to refresh and strengthen, securing deals for these two players would surely be a great way for them to do that.
