Celtic fans have been raving about the actions of their captain following the final whistle after Celtic’s recent league victory.
As the rain poured down upon the pitch, Celtic captain Callum McGregor pulled his teammates into a huddle to keep them motivated despite having just won their game over Dundee 6-0.
In the video clip, shared on Celtic’s official Twitter page, the crowd can be heard appreciating the gesture, cheering widely as McGregor delivers a speech to the rest of the team.
It seems as though that positive live reaction has translated onto the world of social media, with Celtic supporters online also sharing their praise of the captain’s actions.
What did these Celtic fans have to say?
“Leading by example, he was first to everything today. True captain’s performance.”
“I was not the only one with something in my eye when Calum did this. He emphasised to players and fans alike, this is OUR benchmark, this is OUR title, this is OUR city.”
While he may have some way to go to quite reach that level of success, McGregor has played for the club more than 300 times, registering 54 goals and 63 assists (as per Transfermarkt).
With the home crowd being so appreciative of McGregor’s recent actions, it looks as though he may well be the right man to lead the club for this season and beyond.
