Former Rangers starlet Nathan Patterson has claimed that he would love to return to the club one day in the future.
The defender came through the Rangers academy but moved to Everton last year for around £16m.
He has made just 13 appearances since arriving at Goodison Park, but 12 of these appearances came this season.
Still only 21, he has plenty of time on his side to make an impression at Everton, but has already spoken about his love for the club where he grew up.
He told Mailsport (via The Daily Record): “Of course, I’d love to go back to Rangers later on in my career and finish what I started. It would be great to finish at Ibrox.
“It’s where I started off my career so it would be nice to play in front of those fans again.”
TIF Thoughts on Patterson…
Whilst Rangers fans can be excited by the comments coming from such a talented young player, the key takeaway is that he would like to finish his career at Ibrox after spending his prime years elsewhere.
It is, therefore, an admission that he could maybe return to the club in well over ten years, but should he not find success at Everton, then it seems Rangers could always be an option for him to return to.
Patterson made just 27 appearances for the Gers but showed enough talent in that period to earn him a move to the Premier League, and it is surely only a matter of time before he displays why he was worth the hype on Merseyside.
