Presenter ExWHUemployee has praised West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen after he impressed in recent friendlies.
While the World Cup has been going on for the past month or so, the end is finally in sight, and Premier League football is set to return in just a matter of weeks.
With that in mind, West Ham have understandably been stepping up their preparations with some recent friendlies. Indeed, they took on Cambridge United and won 4-2 last week, before beating Udinese 3-1 at the weekend.
It seems as though Bowen has caught the eye on both occasions, and Ex was keen to praise the player in a new update shared on The West Ham Way Patreon page shortly after the game.
He wrote: “The Hammers went a goal behind but fought back just before half-time with Said Benrahma converting from a parry from the ‘keeper from a few yards out. West Ham were much better in the second half and a great goal from Lanzini was then followed by a winner from Antonio, after great work from Bowen.
“Bowen in particular looked close to his best in this game, having also played well against Cambridge United in the week.”
TIF Thoughts on Jarrod Bowen and West Ham…
After that Cambridge game, Bowen was dubbed the ‘star man’ for West Ham in journalist Jonty Colman’s player ratings for football.london after getting his name on the scoresheet.
No doubt, fans will be delighted to hear more praise for the winger this time out as he looks to build up momentum for the second half of the Premier League season.
It’s probably fair to say Bowen hasn’t quite been at his best this term with just two league goals and zero assists in 15 outings, but if he can step up now, he could make a big impact for the Hammers over the coming months.
