Leeds United are looking to bring in as high a fee as possible in the January transfer window for Cody Drameh.

But presenter of the One Leeds Fan Channel, Conor McGilligan, has shared his frustration towards the notion of selling the 21-year-old in the first place.

It has been suggested the likes of Newcastle United and even Borussia Dortmund are showing an interest in the young right-back ahead of the January window.

With Rasmus Kristensen and Luke Ayling seemingly Jesse Marsch’s top two options for the starting spot in the Leeds side at right-back, it does appear Drameh’s options at Elland Road have become extremely limited.

First up, which of these World Cup debutants could Leeds go back in for this winter?

This has frustrated McGilligan, who has been left feeling like Victor Orta is making a big mistake by potentially allowing the young talent to leave in January:

“What are we doing? And the only reason I’m going to turn around and say okay, that’s understandable is if we get a really high transfer fee for him.

“Do we believe that’s going to happen with what happened in the summer with Leeds United when it came to some of our best assets and getting high value for them? I’m not 100% sure. But yeah, I do think this was a mistake.”

TIF Thoughts on McGilligan’s comments…

We do have to agree with McGilligan in the sense of Drameh perhaps not being given the best opportunity to showcase his potential for the Whites.

Is Drameh better than Ayling?

Yes

No

No

Drameh spent the second half of last season out on loan with Cardiff City where he earned himself their player of the season award despite playing just 22 games.

However, since returning to Leeds, he has made just one appearance in the Premier League and with the likes of Dortmund showing an interest, it certainly seems as if the 21-year-old has the make-up of a potential star.

They won’t get much for Cody. He has not been given the chance to break into the team. With such a poor defense at Leeds one can wonder who has he upset? He did very well at Cardiff, and its this potential we look for.

Gung ho mistake ridden Ayling in front of him, what a joke. Its a disgrace what is happening.
