There have been plenty of football rumours flying around as has every transfer window in the past, we look at 35 of the best rumours this summer…

Stephan El Shaarawy: AC Milan – Real Madrid

El Shaarawy Real Madrid

The Italian wonder-kid is reportedly unhappy at not being the star player at the San Siro following Mario Balotelli’s arrival in January. Real Madrid have stated their interest in the El Shaarawy and will be looking for a forward to replace outgoing Gonzalo Higuain. However Chelsea are also on the hunt for a striker. Gazetta report that Madrid will offer former Milan player, Kaka, and a substantial amount of money for the 20 year old.

Suarez Man CityLuis Suarez: Liverpool – Manchester City

The controversial forward has stated that he would like to leave Liverpool and has been linked to a whole host of big teams around Europe. Liverpool have reiterated that the Uruguayan is not for sale despite a series of disciplinary issues. Reports from Spain say that Suarez has agreed personal terms with Real Madrid, but Manchester City will be hoping to scupper the Spanish giants’ plans. Manchester City are keen on signing a top goal-scorer and have set their sights on Suarez after refusing to meet Edinson Cavani’s value.

Thomas Ince: Blackpool – Cardiff City

Ince Cardiff

Premier League new-boys, Cardiff, have already agreed an £8 million deal with Blackpool for the England U21 international. The forward had a prolific season in the Championship scoring 18 goals in 46 appearances, attracting the likes of Liverpool as well as Cardiff. Liverpool may well hijack the Bluebirds’ bid and have been heavily touted to sign their former player. However Ince’s father and manager at Blackpool, Paul Ince, insists that the 21 year old is in no rush to leave the Tangerines.

Zouma ChelseaKurt Zouma: AS Saint-Etienne – Chelsea

The 18 year old centre back is one of the hottest talents produced by the French Ligue 1. Currently representing France at the U20 World Cup, Zouma has been linked with a long list of footballing giants including Anzhi, Bayern Munich and AC Milan. Chelsea are the latest to have shown an interest in the Frenchman, who see him as a long term replacement for when John Terry retires. Zouma has £10 million price-tag.

Robert Lewandowski: Borussia Dortmund – Manchester United

Lewandowski Man Utd

The big Pole has come a long way from being linked with a £3 million move to Blackburn to becoming one of Europe’s top strikers. The 24 year old shot to fame during Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League campaign, in which he notched 4 goals in one game against Real Madrid to take the Germans to the Final. Manchester United have been heavily linked with Lewandowski, especially now that Rooney seems intent on leaving and Dortmund have refused to sell the forward to Bayern Munich. However Chelsea, Real Madrid and now Manchester City are battling with United for the £25 million strikers’ signature.

David Villa: FC Barcelona – Tottenham Hotspurs

Villa Spurs

Villa has fallen out of favour at Barcelona and wishes to play in the Premier League before retirement. Spain’s all-time top goal-scorer has also been linked with a move to Liverpool and Fiorentina. The Spurs manager, André Villas-Boas, has been a long-standing admirer of Villa and attempted to sign him for Chelsea during his ill-fated 256-day tenure at Stamford Bridge. In May the Portuguese manager described the forward as “a world-renowned striker” and Villa’s signing would certainly serve as a statement of intent given Tottenham’s narrow failure to qualify for the Champions League last season. However, although there appears to be scope to agree personal terms with a player who earns around £140,000 a week in Spain, it remains to be seen whether Barcelona drop their initial £12m asking price for a striker whose contract expires in 12 months’ time.

Flamini Villa

Mathieu Flamini: AC Milan – Aston Villa

The former Arsenal midfielder is a free agent after being released from his AC Milan contract after an unsuccessful, injury-hit spell at the San Siro. Villa will battle Southampton for the Frenchman’s signature who is sure to bring much needed experience to both sides.

Laurent Koscielny: Arsenal – Bayern Munich

Koscielny Bayern

New Bayern boss, Pep Guardiola, is said to be a massive fan of Arsenal’s French centre-back who impressed at the end of the 2012/13 season. The 27 year old however, is keen to see out his long-term contract at The Emirates and says he is committed to Arsenal. Where have we heard that before…?

Kiessling Liverpool

Stefan Kiessling: Bayer 04 Leverkusen – Liverpool

It appears that Brendan Rodgers’ over-haul of Liverpool is not at an end. Following 4 new arrivals already, Liverpool continue to be linked with many a name. The latest on this list is Leverkusen’s German forward, Stefan Kiessling. The 29 year old was linked with a move to Anfield last summer but nothing materilaised. He has also been linked with Chelsea who have already signed Leverkusen forward Andre Schurrle, giving the London club an advantage over Liverpool.

Adebayor VillaEmmanuel Adebayor: Tottenham Hotspurs – Aston Villa

Adebayor is said to want out of Spurs after a disappointing season at White Hart Lane. This move may only happen if Villa’s star striker, Christian Benteke, moves on. Aston Villa could use their Belgian forward as part of a move for Adebayor. However Villa face competition from Spain as Atletico Madrid look to replace Monaco bound Radamel Falcao.

Kolarov Joventus

Aleksandar Kolarov: Manchester City – Juventus

Out of favour Serb, Kolarov, has said he would consider following Man City team-mate, Carlos Tevez, to Juventus. Having lost his place to Gael Clichy, Kolarov would be willing to take a big pay-cut to get more game time in Turin. Having signed for £16 million from Lazio, City will have to accept a loss of around £6 million for the 27 year old.

David Luiz: Chelsea – Paris Saint-Germain

Luiz PSG

The 26 year old Brazilian had been earmarked as a future Chelsea captain, but since Jose Mourinho’s appointment as manager his future looks uncertain. The extravagant centre-back does not fit Mourinho’s team style and has been linked with moves away from London. Bayern Munich and Barcelona have also been linked with a £35 million pound move. PSG see Luiz as the perfect replacement for Thiago Silva should he leave the French Champions.

Mata Barcelona

Juan Mata: Chelsea – FC Barcelona

Another surprise was news that Mourinho wanted to get rid of star midfielder Juan Mata. The 25 year old has been linked with moves back to his home country Spain, with Barcelona and Real Madrid interested. The move looked even more likely with the signing of yet another attacking forward, Andre Schurrle. However Mata has dismissed the links and believes he will have a key role to play in Mourinho’s Chelsea side.

Ramirez Atletico

Gaston Ramirez: Southampton – Atletico Madrid

Ramirez’s agent has stated that Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing the Southampton midfield starlet. Bought for £12 million last summer, Ramirez scored 5 in 26 appearances and has been linked with a move away from St Mary’s. However Saints Chief, Mauricio Pochettino has denied that their record signing will be leaving the club

Richards Milan

Micah Richards: Manchester City – AC Milan

Playing time has been limited for the 25 year old and has seen him fall down the pecking order for the England squad with Glen Johnson and Kyle Walker occupying his favoured right-back position. A move seems inevitable having recently refused a contract extension at Man City. He has been linked with moves to both Inter and AC Milan and Chelsea. Mario Balotelli may be the clincher in this deal though. The former City forward has recommended Richards to i Rossoneri.

Elia Liverpool

Eljero Elia: Werder Bremen – Liverpool

Liverpool have rekindled their interest in Dutch winger, Eljero Elia. The speedy wide-man was on Liverpool’s radar before his move to Juventus and is seen now as a possible replacement for Stewart Downing. Brendan Rodgers has been tracking the player for some time and a £5 million move could happen.

Barry VillaGareth Barry: Manchester City – Aston Villa

Following Fernandinho’s arrival at the Etihad, Gareth Barry’s future at Manchester City looks bleak. The midfielder doesn’t fit, new manager, Manuel Pellegrini’s plans and has been linked with moves to West Ham, Cardiff City, Stoke City and his old club, Aston Villa. Paul Lambert sees Barry as the perfect role model for his young side. The 32 year old, who made over 400 Villa appearances between 1998 and his £12 million move to Manchester, is prepared to see out his £100,000 a week contract, but does not want to spend the season on the fringes.

Alonso Chelsea

Xabi Alonso: Real Madrid – Chelsea

The first player to follow Jose Mourinho from the Bernabeu could be Spanish central-midfielder, Xabi Alonso. The former Liverpool star was highly rated by Mourinho and has just one year left on his contract, having refused Madrid’s offer of a two year contract. Alonso would be an apt replacement for the outgoing John Obi Mikel.
