West Brom fans have shown appreciation to their new loanee Callum Robinson on social media.

Robinson has made a positive impact for Championship leaders West Brom in his first two Baggies appearances. Robinson joined West Brom on loan from Premier League Sheffield United on 29 January. The Republic of Ireland international has started and impressed in two consecutive Baggies victories since his arrival at The Hawthorns.

Speaking to wba.co.uk, the 25-year-old attacker has given Albion fans an insight into the promising mindset and ambition of their new loanee. The Irishman stated that though his start has been promising at The Hawthorns, he feels there is still “more to come” from him moving forward.

However, West Brom faithful have quickly taken a shine to their new man. Following his promising start, Baggies fans and Robinson will both now be excitedly anticipating the attacker’s first goal for the club.

Read the appreciative messages of some West Brom fans to their promising new attacker Robinson in the tweets below.

What do we think?

Robinson, who is valued at £6.3 million (Transfermarkt), had started just nine of Sheffield United’s 24 Premier League games prior to his January loan move. Game time is likely to have been a motivating factor in Robinson’s decision to go elsewhere temporarily. The 25-year-old attacker has cited his desire to “become an established Premier League player”, as one of the key deciding factors in his January move.

In addition to that, Robinson has been a regular member of the Republic of Ireland’s squad of late. He featured in five of his national team’s last six EURO 2020 qualifiers. National manager Mick McCarthy has, in the past, emphasised the importance of club game time to his national team selections. With EURO 2020 qualification playoffs coming up, this is also likely to have weighed on the 25-year-old’s mind.

Robinson’s standout performances as part of the Championship’s leaders so far will surely help him to his goal of becoming an “established Premier League player” in the near future. Continuing to consistently deliver performances in the ilk of his most recent ones should force both the Republic of Ireland and Premier League parent club Sheffield United to take note.
