Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting on Twitter after a post revealed Julian Nagelsmann is the favourite to become the new Bayern Munich manager.

The 33-year-old RB Leipzig boss has been heavily linked with a summer move to Spurs after Jose Mourinho was relieved of his duties following an unsuccessful 17-month stint in north London.

Nagelsmann has continued to impress at the Red Bull Arena in 2020/21, guiding his youthful side to second place in the Bundesliga table after reaching the Champions League semi-finals last season.

However, Spurs have been handed a major blow in their reported pursuit of the young German coach after well-respected journalist Constantin Eckner claimed Nagelsmann is the frontrunner for the Bayern Munich job, with the Bavarian giants ready to pay at least €20m (£17.4m) for his services.

Recent reports have since suggested that the Leipzig boss has ‘agreed personal terms’ with Bayern Munich.

Current Bayern boss Hansi Flick is rumoured to become the new German national team coach in the summer, leaving the door open for his compatriot to take over at the Allianz Arena, and the news has not gone down well with disappointed Tottenham fans.

“Lol. Levy wouldn’t even pay €20m for a striker so that’s another one finished. God I hate this club sometimes”

@gavinspurs

“We’re not getting him. We probably won’t get a top young coach until Levy completely steps away from transfers.”

@otheranthony

“We are dusted”

@Bartholemwhosav

“The day gets worse”

@Cyrus_Sans

“Levy really needs to get out of the Club if we’re to have any hope of winning trophies. You can’t win trophies with the squad not being constantly improved. He won’t fund it”

@MattyFrench82

“Having to pay money…. that’s spurs out so”

@gibbers501

Tottenham are currently sitting in seventh place in the Premier League table, and with just five games of the campaign left to play, are set to miss out on Champions League football for a second consecutive year.
