Fans of Celtic have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which the Bhoys shared their team news ahead of their Scottish Cup last-16 fixture on Sunday.
With Celtic being set to finish a distant second to their Old Firm rivals in the Scottish Premiership this season, the Hoops still have one chance to put a dent in their rivals’ hopes of a domestic double, as well as clinching some silverware themselves, when the two sides meet in the Scottish Cup last 16 at 15:00 on Sunday.
However, after Celtic relayed their starting XI for the clash against Rangers on Twitter, fans of the club flocked to have their say on John Kennedy’s team selection, with many appearing furious at the 37-year-old’s omission of James Forrest, who didn’t even make the bench after being withdrawn against Livingston due to an injury concern.
Are you happy with Kennedy's team selection?
Yes
No
So, what exactly did these Celtic fans have to say in reaction to the team news?
“No Forrest and Brown hahaha always next year.”
“No Forrest?!?”
“Gutted wee Jamesy Forrest is out, he’s been a huge miss this season. Those eleven that have been picked better step up today.”
“No Forrest but Christie behave yourself.”
“Forrest being out for this just sums up our season.”
“No Forrest, could cry.”
“No Forrest. Day is ruined now.”
All in all, it would appear as if these Celtic fans are far from happy with Kennedy’s team selection for the clash with Rangers, and considering the fact that Forrest had highly impressed last time out for the club in the 6-0 win over Livingston, it not difficult to understand why.
