Transfer insider Dean Jones believes Leeds United winger Jack Harrison is willing to consider his options this summer.
Leeds defied the odds on the final day of the Premier League season, climbing out of the bottom three to secure their place at the top table of English football – which could make it easier for them to hold onto their top stars.
New signings are also a must at Elland Road, with midfielder Brenden Aaronson added to Jesse Marsch’s squad, while the Whites are also in talks to sign Red Bull Salzburg full-back Rasmus Kristensen.
However, player retention will also prove pivotal for Leeds this summer. There are big doubts over the futures of both Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha, with Manchester City and Barcelona circling for the pair respectively.
Meanwhile, according to The Telegraph, Newcastle United are thought to be keen on winger Harrison.
Despite Leeds managing to survive, insider Jones believes that the former Man City star is considering all of his options.
He told GiveMeSport: “I think it’s just the fact that he’s available at a time when they weren’t expecting it. Jack Harrison is willing to consider options at the moment, which I don’t think people thought would happen if Leeds stayed up.”
TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments...
There has been a twist with Barcelona seemingly struggling to sign Raphinha, and with Harrison now apparently open to a move, things are starting to pick up.
Harrison has certainly been a key player to Leeds this season, whether that be for Jesse Marsch or previous manager Marcelo Bielsa. He played a total of 38 games in all competitions, missing just three league fixtures, highlighting his reliability and his durability to the testing cause at Elland Road.
He bagged 10 goals during the campaign for the Whites, including two assists for his teammates and was also on the scoresheet as Jesse Marsch’s men beat Brentford 2-1 on the final day to secure their English top-flight status for another season.
So the update that the £13.5m-rated winger will be considering his options this summer will certainly have the Whites faithful sweating at the sight of seeing one of the key men leave the club.
