Aston Villa are reportedly eyeing Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.
The Daily Mail has recently reported that a number of Premier League clubs including Brighton, Crystal Palace and Burnley are all interested in snatching away the 23-year-old from Scotland.
It’s believed that Villa have been following the midfielder.
The Finland international has only made three appearances in the Scottish Premiership under Rangers manager Steven Gerrard so far this season (per Transfermarkt), however, he has featured 12 times in other competitions for the Bluenoses, which suggests that he does still have some part to play at Ibrox.
Kamara joined Rangers from fellow Scottish club Dundee in January for just £50,000 (per Transfermarkt).
Just a month into his tenure at Rangers, Gerrard hailed Kamara as a “class act” when discussing how the player had settled into the club (Sky Sports).
Return to England
The midfielder made his professional debut for Arsenal at the young age of 19 in a 3-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup in 2015 (BBC Sport). Of course, it may not be much, but he at least has some experience from playing in England, other than in his youth days.

If there’s four Premier League clubs that are interested in one player, then that’s surely a sign he is an impressive talent. The question now is whether or not Kamara will want another chance to make a name for himself in the Premier League or to stay in Scotland and fight to hold down his place at Rangers.
In terms of whether a move would be beneficial for Aston Villa – Kamara has averaged 0.6 key passes per game (WhoScored) and an 88.2% passing percentage, which isn’t too different to Conor Hourihane who has averaged 1.3 key passes per game and an 85.1% passing percentage. Hourihane has been rotated with Douglas Luiz in the current campaign, with John McGinn cementing his place in the side, so just purely from judging by the stats above it doesn’t look as if Kamara will offer Villa anything different.
