Everton were recently dealt a disappointing behind-the-scenes transfer blow as Arnaut Danjuma was taken out of their grasp by Tottenham Hotspur.
So, the Toffees now literally need to go out and sign a winger after the news that Anthony Gordon looks set to join Newcastle.
One player that Everton have been linked with that we feel would be an ideal alternative to Danjuma is Sheffield United star Iliman Ndiaye.
In 65 senior appearances for the Yorkshire club, the 22-year-old has scored 17 goals and delivered 10 assists whilst playing across a variety of midfield and attacking positions.
This season has seen the Senegal international find the net 10 times and provide seven assists in 28 Championship appearances, showing how much of a big part he’s played in getting the Blades 13 points clear of Watford in third place.
Across those appearances, Ndiaye has shown how much of a deadly attacking figure he is and what he’d be able to offer the Toffees.
For example, as well as having the highest average of dribbles per game (1.9) at United, he also has the second-highest average of shots per game (1.8) and fourth-highest for key passes (1.1).
Would Ndiaye be a suitable signing for Everton?
Yes
No
To further showcase what sort of figure he is, Anel Ahmedhodzic had this to say about him as well as describing the Blades star as an “entertaining” player.
He said: “He’s amazing. Sometimes when we have a period of constant pressure against us we can give the ball to Ili and he will dribble past three or four players and give us breathing room. He’s that type of player that can create something out of nothing. He’s a magician.”
Taking all of this into account, Ndiaye certainly has the talent to be an exciting addition to Everton’s squad and give the team a better chance of winning games and getting them away from the relegation zone.
