Presenter and YouTuber Joe Wainman has sung the praises of Leeds United star Wilfried Gnonto following their 2-1 Premier League defeat.

The Italian was praised by many for his performance at Villa Park, with former Leeds ace Jermaine Beckford raving about the winger, describing him as ‘confident and direct’.

In seven Premier League appearances, the 19-year-old has a goal and an assist to his name, though what makes it more impressive is that he only averages 64 minutes per league match.

Furthermore, his talent has been recognised by Italy’s manager Roberto Mancini, as the ex-Manchester City boss has already given Gnonto eight caps for his nation and has already opened his account for the Azzurri.

Speaking on his YouTube channel following the defeat to Aston Villa, Wainman labelled the player as ‘unreal’ and the best player currently at Leeds.

He stated: “That guy, I’m telling you a fact, he’s not going to be here long. He’s that good.

“Those that back Jesse – remember Jesse said he’s not ready. He’s the best player we’ve got.

“That guy is a baller.

“He is unreal.”

TIF Thoughts on Wainman’s comments…

We believe that Gnonto is a player that has a lot of potential, the fact he’s getting such rave reviews at 19 indicates that big suitors will be sniffing around him in the future.

Plus the fact that an extremely successful manager such as Mancini has identified his talents, may see him be a constant starter for Italy in the long-term future.

However the prospect still has areas of his game he needs to work on, one being the effectiveness of his dribbling. 36% of his dribbles have been successful, whilst his teammate on the other wing Jack Harrison has slightly better stats than him with 43%.

If he can continue to grow and develop then Gnonto could become a top player for Leeds, judging by his career so far and the performance against Villa he has the tools to do so.
