Leeds United have now put their pursuit of Angers midfielder Azzedine Ounahi on hold, according to The Daily Mail.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding a move for the 22-year-old in recent weeks, with the Whites already signing Max Wober and Georginio Rutter this month.

Reports have claimed that Leeds have already tabled a contract offer to the Morocco international, with 90min journalist Graeme Bailey believing that the club have upped their offer. However, it seems as if their interest has cooled as a result of their worrying form under Jesse Marsch.

The Daily Mail’s Simon Jones shared a story late on Monday night regarding Leeds and Ounahi.

He stated that Andrea Radrizzani and the 49ers have decided to put their pursuit of the midfielder on hold due to the uncertainty surrounding the manager.

It does seem as if this week is absolutely crucial for Marsch and his Elland Road future, with an FA Cup replay against Cardiff City and a top-flight meeting against Brentford on the horizon.

Failing to win either of those fixtures could well spell the end for the American, which may leave Leeds on the hunt for a new head coach.

Therefore, it could be a wise decision to take stock when it comes to Ounahi, although some would argue that a new midfielder should be a priority regardless of who is in charge, with Marc Roca, Tyler Adams and Adam Forshaw currently the only senior options in defensive and central midfield.
