Journalist Josh Bunting has blasted Giorgos Giakoumakis for his apparent poor attitude as the striker is said to be unhappy with Celtic’s latest contract offer.
The Greece international is reportedly displeased with the new wage packet being offered by Celtic, and with just four league starts to his name this season, game time could well be on his mind as well.
However, Celtic have seemingly tried to sign Giakoumakis to a new deal, only for the Greek ace to be linked with a reported life-changing move out to Saudi Arabia, where he would seemingly earn significantly more money.
Bunting has been left fuming with Giakoumakis’ shocking attitude and lack of desire to prove himself at Celtic, as he tweeted: “Good goalscorer but you have to question his attitude. There’s frustration clearly, but when you’re as good as him, you knuckle down and work your way into the team. Someone’s getting a good player, but wary of his attitude.”
Should Celtic sell Giakoumakis?

TIF Thoughts on Giakoumakis’ future…
Despite having an impressive goalscoring record with Celtic – he’s scored 19 in 15 league starts – the “amazing‘ Giakoumakis has never really been the main man for Postecoglou, with the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda starting more often this season.
Therefore, given Giakoumakis is now 28 and coming into the peak years of his career, it’s no surprise that he may be keen on a move away to another club that can guarantee him more regular game time.
However, Bunting does raise a good point about the striker’s attitude, as he’s only been in Glasgow for just under 18 months and appears to be keen on jumping ship at the first sight of competition, which could put off potential suitors.
